Abstract
This document establishes a design process for natural, mechanical, and hybrid (combination) ventilative cooling systems to reduce overheating and cooling demand in non-residential buildings. The aim is to estimate the potential of ventilative cooling before using other cooling means such as supplementary and/or mechanical cooling in order to fulfil the thermal comfort requirements in an energy efficient way.
Excluded:
- The natural ventilation of which airflow path contains plural spaces in series that require thermal comfort.
- The calculation methods for ventilation air flow rates, room temperature and cooling demand, but references to these methods may be given.
